Anna Quiggin BVSc BSc MRCVS Clinical Director

Anna qualified from Bristol Veterinary School in 2003, after she had gained a Zoology degree from University College London in 1998. She joined the practice as a mixed vet in 2003, however, it was not long before she developed her interests as a general equine practitioner and left the consulting rooms behind!

From 2007 – 2018 Anna has been a dedicated equine vet, whose interests include equine medicine, ophthalmology, dentistry, oncology and wound management (Although she is happy to deal with any of your horses first opinion issues). Anna also enjoys looking after donkeys; and does a lot of work in the area for the Donkey Sanctuary’s donkeys. Anna’s greatest rewards come from building strong relationships with her clients and patients. Anna was delighted to become one of the Clinical Directors in 2018.

Anna is available for calls Monday, Tuesday, Friday. (Thursday morning’s can be arranged)

Charlie also became a Clinical Director in 2018, and is very excited about developing the future for Hale Equine

Charlie is available for calls on a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.

Emma Ridgway BSc MSc BVM&S MRCVS Clinical Director

Emma grew up riding and competing on her pony and initially pursued a career in conservation biology which saw her working in some exotic corners of the world. However the lure of being a vet was too strong and Emma graduated from the Royal Dick Vet School, Edinburgh, in 2007. During an 18 month hospital based internship at The Willesley Equine Clinic she developed a keen interest in equine internal medicine and anaesthesia. Emma was subsequently taken on as an ambulatory equine vet at B&W Equine Vets (previously Willesley) and, other than 6 months in New Zealand for a Southern Hemisphere stud season, remained there until December 2018. Emma enjoys many aspects of equine work; from pleasure horses, to competition horses, foals and donkeys and is particularly interested in ophthalmology, wound healing, liver disease, poor performance and colic. Aside from internal medicine training, Emma has undertaken courses in Equine Emergency Rescue, has spent time with vets at the Donkey Sanctuary and recently attended the ARVS Casualty Management Course. Outside work Emma can be found chasing around after her two young children and her springer spaniel, Spike. She is very excited to be joining the team at Hale Equine and hopes to specialise in equine internal medicine in the near future.

Emma is available Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Nikki Waterman BVSc MRCVS

Nikki qualified from Bristol and completed a year at the Valley Equine Hospital in Lambourn where she developed her skills both in the hospital and on the road seeing “real” clients. She joined the team in 2013 as Anna’s maternity cover, but was so brilliant we talked her into staying on permanently! Nikki enjoys all aspects of first opinion work, but especially equine medical cases and wound management. We are delighted to return the favor as Nikki is due to head off on her second maternity leave in March, when we will then be welcoming Katie Galvin MRCVS to the team.

Nikki is available Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning.
